PALETTE GALLERY PRESENTS
NEW GROWTH
OPENING RECEPTION
OCT. 27, 2018 | 2PM-6PM
Palette Gallery invites you to celebrate the opening of NEW GROWTH, an exhibition featuring the work of Bay Area artists and the interconnectivity of food and art.
The concept of new growth is often coupled with putting down roots and creating a foundation from which to build upon. It is the reason we gather with others and celebrate that which nourishes, sustains and supports our livelihood. This foundation and means of nourishment are akin to food and community.
For the installation of NEW GROWTH, we asked local artists to explore this concept of food and art and share how their work might be of sustenance to the community.
PLANT DYE INSTALLATION + DEMONSTRATION
Through a live demonstration and installation, textile artist and author Sasha Duerr will curate a vibrant seasonal plant dye palette using an abundance of local ingredients. She will highlight bi-products of culinary plants, an array of easily foraged flora, and even urban sources of color that can be found from weeds and waste.
